SPRING Parkour Academy offers Parkour training for all ages and fitness levels. Our training is structured in a class setting where the basics of fundamental movement, fitness, and conditioning to advanced Parkour are trained and enjoyed. We believe that Parkour and Free Running are disciplines and like all other disciplines, it is important to have a good foundation to build on. Our Curriculum offers more than 80 different movements and has many dedicated Coaches - all of who strive to teach the heart of Parkour, which encompasses technique and progression to all our students.

Classes are divided into the following levels:

Zero Hero’s  Basic locomotive movements, jumping, rolling and vaulting

Big Hero’s  An integrated platform for Parkour throughout all levels

Level 1 - Beginners basic fitness, safety, and locomotive movement

Level 2 - Intermediate Parkour skills, introduction to flips and flow

Level 3 - More advanced Parkour skills

Level 4 - Creativity stage… the world is your oyster

We are not a High-Performance gym and therefore, our classes are Tailor-made to suit each individual student that accommodates all levels. Parkour has become a lifestyle to us that is captured perfectly in our slogan, "Come just as you are… but be willing to grow..."

LEVEL BREAKDOWN

Induction Training

We host an Introduction Workshop for first-time traceurs or advanced traceurs who are starting at Spring Parkour Academy. The aim of this workshop is to give a basic understanding of the dynamics of Spring Academy.

  • Parkour & Free Running Theory

  • Basic Parkour Safety and rules

  • 3 Basic Vaults

  • Pop Jump / Climb

Level 0: Heros

Due to high demand for younger kids to learn basic locomotor movements that would build into a more intense training sport such as Parkour, we have started Zero Heroes and Big Hero classes for kids between the ages of 5 -12 who are not yet able to jump as high or run as far. This class is designed to be fun, flexible, and moving. We also encourage parents to be part of this class to aid in communication as well as movements.

Level 1

Building on the fundamental movements of induction Training. Level 1’s primary focus is to develop muscle strength, fitness and endurance (Functional Fitness). The class has a fun but active feel and general enjoyment of movement is key. Two active sports days / Training days are mandatory for this level.

  • 3 Additional Basic Vaults

  • Wall Movements

  • Bar Movements

  • Gymnastic based Handstand

Level 2

With a more dedicated approach to parkour, slightly higher levels of fitness and strength are expected of the students. Refining Level 1 moves, as well as new movements, are introduced.  Three active sports days / Training days are mandatory for this level.

  • Advancing Fitness, Core and Strength

  • All Level 1 Movements

  • Additional Level 2 Moves

  • First Progressional Movements to flips

  • Standing Backflips off Obstacle

Level 3

The fundamental stages are there to build into an individual with the basics of parkour and free-running, which can set the foundation for bigger gaps, longer vaults and jumps, and even more difficult tricks in the free-running department. These stages help to identify the art of movement in a progressive way which opens the door for moves to be built on.

Four active sports days / Training days are mandatory for this level.

  • Introducing advanced fitness movements and exercises

  • All previously learned movements are used and built upon

  • Different flips and their variations are explored

Level 4

Involves the addition of individual style to the fundamentals and encourages students to explore more challenging movements. This level is where students will begin to discover comfortable movements that suit them and compliment their style of movement; this is brought about by the further development and broadening of fundamental movements and putting these movements to use in adapting to different environments/obstacles.

Four active sports days / Training days are mandatory for this level.

  • Further developing skills and strength to perform advanced fitness exercises

  • All previously learned movements are used and built upon

  • Twisting

  • Encouraging experimentation with old and new movements
